Basement Sump Pumps
What is a Sump Pump?
A sump pump is a pump that sits inside a sump pit, located below your basement floor. Water enters the sump pit through your drain tile system. When the water reaches a certain point, the sump pump is activated and begins to pump out the extra water to the exterior of your home. A sump pump allows the water collected from the drain tiler to be removed away from the foundation. Not all basements require a sump pump. Please call for more information.
Basement Pros, Inc. uses Zoeller sump pumps in all of our installations. Zoeller pumps are considered top-of-the-line in the industry! Basement Pros also makes a direct connection to the exterior drain tile.
Installation
We first start by removing the necessary amount of concrete on the floor and excavating a hole large enough for the new sump pit, including tunneling under the foundation’s footing to the exterior of the basement wall. The sump pit is installed, and the drain tile is connected. The sump pit, along with the drain tile, is backfilled in clean crushed rock. The tunnel we provided directly connects the exterior drain tile to the new sump pit. In some cases, existing or new interior drain tile is connected to the new sump pit. The sump pit discharge line is plumbed to the exterior of the foundation and the concrete floor around the new pit is repaired. Please contact Basement Pros for more information on the discharge line options.
